Gaia Grossi is an Italian-born, naturalized American visual artist currently based in the Roman countryside.

She lived in New York City for over fifteen years, where she studied at the Art Students League of New York and the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture.

After an earlier career in journalism, Grossi has spent the past decade exhibiting her paintings and sculptures in the United States and Europe. In 2019, she was selected for the Art Students League’s Model to Monument program and created a twelve-foot-tall public sculpture for Riverside Park in Manhattan. Since 2021, the work has had a permanent home in the Florida Keys.

Her practice explores fragmentation, time, and the discoveries and discomforts that accompany change.

Grossi lives with her husband, a martial artist, and their son in an olive grove outside Rome, where they are developing an art center with a Japanese tea house and dojo—a space conceived around art, learning, exchange, and care for others.
